PIPVIC2 - Piloting IP VIdeoConferencing
This project is scheduled to run from 15th December 1998 until the end of October 1999. It follows the successful completion of the first Pilot, PIPVIC.
The aim of this project is to undertake piloting activities in order to gain a greater understanding of the issues which may be encountered in running a large scale IP videoconferencing service. 
It is a UKERNA funded project, and forms a core part of the UKERNA videoconferencing strategy. The project is coordinated and led by University College London, the principal investigator being Dr. Angela Sasse, and there are 12 other Higher Education Institution partner sites also involved. They are:-
  • University of Exeter 
  • The School of Slavonic and East European Studies of the University of London (SSEES) 
  • Dundee University 
  • University of Edinburgh 
  • Glasgow Caledonian University 
  • University of Manchester
