RE: Sun Service Order 185504

Well, I just installed ypserv.68020 and ypxfr.68020 on my SUN-3 server.

The good news: the server rebooted.

The bad news: it still makes strange nameserver requests, which would
have caused the reboot to hang. (The non-printable fix is not there
either) See attachment 2 for the kinds of weird requests from
this "patched ypserv and ypxfr". Some of these will work because we
actually have hosts like "H.lanl.gov", not that we are really resolving
them.

I have a question for Sun. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have an
"Internet" test bed for your product? That, after all, is a good part
of your market. And those who are not a part of the Internet wish they
were. It is obvious that Internetting is not really part of your
focus (see attachment 1). What is? OSI? yuck, yuck.

For us, the Internet is the computer.

P.S. Your address: jolinec@sun.com indicates that you do use the Internet
on occasion!
