I vote for hosts NOT responding to broadcast ping's. If you want to find
out who is on your net:

        set networkpart=192.5.16
        @ subnet = 1
        @ maskfactor = 32
        @ host = 1
        @ subnetpart = ( $maskfactor * $subnet )
        while ( $host < $maskfactor )
        @ hostpart = ( $subnetpart + $host )
        set address="$networkpart.$hostpart"
        icmp echo vanilla $address
        @ host = ( $host + 1 )
        end

But, if you do respond to broadcasts you better put in the IP address
of the interface the broadcast came in on in your response!
