We are running a SUN3/60 under SUN UNIX 3.5. It is on an ethernet LAN connected
by back-to-back gateways to a proprietary LAN. The proprietary LAN transmits
TCP/IP utilizing the security option. From the documentation we have been able
to uncover, no UNIX implementation utilizes this option. We have written code
on The SUNS at the socket level utilizing SUN UNIX without the security options,
but we have determined that they are necessary. We need to know if there is
some way, at the socket level, to force SUN UNIX to transmit using security
options. Is it also possible to force the option on the system to use top
secret for all transmissions?

We would also be interested to know if there are any other operating
environments which DO implement the security option.

Thank you.
