A martian filter is designed to delete certain kinds of packet trash
at gateway interfaces between networks. Specifically, the trash consists
of "loopback" addresses 127.0.0.1 from malconfigured Unix hosts, "local
use" addresses (see latest Assigned Numbers RFCs) and broadcasts. See
