Re: A defense of GOSIP

The way some people are attracted by picutres of cars-of-the-future
makes me wonder whether there isn't a third term to the classic
"a pessimist sees the glass as half empty, an optimist sees the
glass as half full" routine: what kind of -ist thinks the glass
runneth over? (Don't try "futurist," I've got too nasty a retort
for that one in storage.)

Getting back to what we're supposed to be talking about, however
(i.e., the December, 1986 GOSIP Draft, NOT what OSI "will" be),
let the record show that I don't even see a half-empty glass,
I see a centipede named Achilles. (And I thank the sender of
the Subj: msg for exposing a few extra heels.)

cheers, map
