Van and Dan,
I am in agreement that performance issues must not be swept under the rug.
The better we can solve them, the longer the product lifetime because the
ISO implementations will have to do at least as well for anyone to switch
over. I'm not against ISO, just determined that the switch to that suite,
when it comes, is with the best performance possible. In the meantime, the
TCP/IP suite must similarly do the best possible for the client.
I would be happy to have Van make apresentation in March 87 if he is
interested. Actually, I still have in mind a panel of people concerned
with commercial use of TCP/IP - I have a set of questions to ask
concerning the motivations, requirements and expectations of these
