I apologize for the broadcast, but I wonder if I am the only recipient of
TCP-IP distribution list messages troubled by receipt of messages containing
naked horizontal tabs (control-I characters)?
It is generally difficult to properly reconstruct the tab settings for
presentation. If this is not just a local problem, perhaps we could
agree to expand tabs before submitting messages to TCP-IP distribution
to improve matters until someday we have a common document representation
format which can include adivce about tab settings automatically.
I recognize that such a proposal runs the risk of increasing the total
length of messages but perhaps this is a small price to pay for improved
