Your message left a wedge of uncertainty in the repair itself. Did you mean
the TELNET user client would respond "wont" to a "do echo" or that it would
echo like it advertises? The Principle of Least Astonishment would select the
former, although adventuring the latter would invite a glorious war and
demonstrate TCP ack-ack fights need not be confined to the transport layer.

No, our TELNET user client grumbles "wont" to just about anything.
