We have need for devices that will interconnect distant (few miles)
ethernets via T1 links, and which have enough intelligence to send
only the needed traffic. All protocols must pass transparently.
We have heard that Vitalink makes such a box, but have been unable to
get any details as yet. Also Applitek can do this, but it takes 2
boxes in series at each end, which doubles the cost.
Does anyone know of other options?
Another alternative is to use something like the DEC Lan bridge for the
intelligence, and then some simpler box for just Ethernet/T1 connection.
But we have been unable to locate such a box. Anyone know of any?
