There's a newly installed Spectracom WWVB clock on UMD1.UMD.EDU available
for your (ab)use. This clock should normally be synchronized to WWVB; when
the radio link goes down, there is an automatic fallback to synchronize to
DCN1.ARPA, also with its own WWVB clock.
You can politely ask UMD1 for the time using ICMP echos, UDP
time server and an NTP timerserver. You can also connect to the TCP timeserver
port, but this is discouraged. UMD1.UMD.EDU is a fuzzball for those of you
interested in such things. Its clock configuration is very similar to that
on DCN1.ARPA. Enjoy.
